About Fresh Water Friends

We provide fresh water for the forgotten: communities so rural or so impoverished that they simply can't get clean water on their own. We build wells to deep aquifers by working with local partners who invest in the community, creating ownership and economic opportunity. We have built wells at schools, life centers, child development and vocational centers, and are committed to providing water to everyone in the community without discrimination.

Since our founding in 2015, our Fresh Water Friends® have donated over $1 million, allowing us to fund more than 450 deep bedrock wells in India, Pakistan, Uganda, and Malawi, and serve more than 450,000 people. We have also sponsored temporary water projects for vulnerable communities by supplying water distribution trucks, reverse-osmosis water filters, and bottled water.

Water for Everybody!

We believe every person should have the right to water. Fresh Water Friends® does not discriminate and will not work with those who will not allow everyone to have free access to water. Our field partners work with local elders and village officials to secure nondiscrimination agreements for every well before it goes in the ground. Furthermore, our wells are built at educational, religious, and village centers where people have access to the water 24 hours, 7 days a week.

How Can You Help?

Hundreds of villages are waiting and praying for their own clean water well. You can fund a well, become a monthly WellGiver, or help meet an immediate need.
