Friendship Teams
What is a Fresh Water Friends® team?
Simply put, a FWF Team is a fun and rewarding way to fund a well together. A Fresh Water Friends® Team is any group of people of any size who'd like to do something 'tangible' to help those in need of water. Team members usually live in the same area; perhaps as members of a church, or social group, or just friends and neighbors. Of course, you don’t have to be on a Team in order to donate any amount you wish.
Who Can Be On a Team?
Anyone can be on a Team. A Team can be:
- A family
- A group of friends
- A civic group or club
- A business or a foundation
- A school or institution
- Any other group you can imagine
How Does It Work?
Donate → Communicate → Celebrate!
Each Team is led by a “Team Leader” who invites their friends to join in purchasing their own water wells. Team members participate by:
1. Donating: People are invited to “Give any amount, at least once a year, and join the Team!” This could easily be repeated every year!
2. Communicating: When the well is finished, all Team members will receive a Well Report and Pictures of the well with a Well Plaque showing the name of their Team.
3. Celebrating: Every Team is encouraged to celebrate together once a year.
We like to say, “Join a Team by giving any amount at least once a year.”
It’s easy when everyone on the Team contributes to buy their own well. The more people on your Team, the lower the cost. And if everyone on your Team gives at least once a year, then you can buy a well every year! Everybody wins!
How do I start a team?
It's easy! Just talk to your friends and then reach out to us at info@freshwaterfriends.org. We'll work some magic by creating donation links for your new team and then you're on your way. You'll be joining a number of other teams all over the country, including:
